THE WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO RABBITS

It was September 27, 1726, and Mary Toft was going into labor. The 24-year-old peasant, who worked in hop fields of rural England, called out for her neighbor, Mary Gill. Gill rushed inside Mary’s house and found her squirming in pain. Then something unusual happened. Mary hovered over a bucket and gave birth to a monster.

SLEEP PARALYSIS

You woke up suddenly in the middle of the night and tried to get up but you couldn't. You are wide awake now but your body seems to be disobeying you. You try harder to move but it seems like your body is frozen, like you are paralyzed from your neck downwards.

UTERUS DIDELPHYS - DOUBLE UTERUS

Uterus didelphys  is a uterine malformation where the uterus is present as a paired organ due to failure of embryogenetic fusion of the mullerian ducts. As a result there is a double uterus with two separate cervices, and often a double vagina as well. Each uterus has a single horn linked to the ipsilateral fallopian tube that faces its ovary.

SITUS INVERSUS

Imagine as a doctor you told your patient to go for a routine chest or abdominal x-ray. He or she comes back with the result, you place it in front of illuminated background and you are startled. At first you think you are having problems with your vision or you placed the x-ray film incorrectly. But then after pausing and trying it the other way you discover that there is nothing wrong with your vision and that you placed the x-ray film correctly, you are witnessing a rare condition. All organs that should be on the right are on the left and all organs that should be on the left are on the right. Your patient is fine with no symptoms, just came for a yearly health check-up. If you don't already know about this rare condition don't panic and you are not going mad or forgotten all your anatomy.
 It's SITUS INVERSUS VISCERUM.

Situs inversus (also called situs transversus or oppositus) is a congenital condition in which the major visceral organs are reversed or mirrored from their normal positions. The normal arrangement is known as situs solitus. In other rare cases, in a condition known as situs ambiguus or heterotaxy, situs cannot be determined.

STRANGE FISH WITH TRANSPARENT HEAD

THE PACIFIC BARRELEYE FISH

These fish are named for their barrel-shaped, tubular eyes which are generally directed upwards to detect the silhouettes of available prey; however, according to Robison and Reisenbichler these fish are capable of directing their eyes forward as well.

WHY DO PEOPLE CHEAT IN A RELATIONSHIP?

Old question right? Some people claim its in the blood. Some say all men cheat! Some claim staying faithful is boring like watching only one channel or eating only one type of food! Hmm. But i ask since you cannot 'EAT' one type of food why go into a relationship?

WEIRD ANIMALS PART 2

BLOBFISH

BOY BORN WITHOUT CEREBELLUM AND PONS

This 3 year old boy,Chase Britton has no cerebellum and no pons as well!!! But he can breathe, walk and carry out most of the functions these parts of the brain control or are thought to control. Doctors and scientists are baffled!

WHAT IS THE CEREBELLUM?
In Latin, the word cerebellum means little brain. The cerebellum is the area of the hindbrain that controls motor movement coordination, balance, equilibrium and muscle tone. It may also be involved in some cognitive functions such as attention and language, and in regulating fear and pleasure responses, but its movement-related functions are the most solidly established. The cerebellum does not initiate movement, but it contributes to coordination, precision, and accurate timing. It receives input from sensory systems of the spinal cord and from other parts of the brain, and integrates these inputs to fine tune motor activity. Cerebellar damage does not cause paralysis, but instead produces disorders in fine movement, equilibriumposture, and motor learning.

WHAT IS THE PONS?
It is the part of the brain (Brainstem) that links the medulla oblongata and the thalamus. The pons contains nuclei that relay signals from the forebrain to the cerebellum, along with nuclei that deal primarily with sleep, respiration, swallowing, bladder control, hearing, equilibrium, taste, eye movement, facial expressions, facial sensation, and posture.
